Keynote Speakers Announced for TotalDairy Conference 2024

TotalDairy Conference, renowned for its commitment to showcasing the latest advancements in dairy herd management from around the globe, is pleased to announce the distinguished lineup of keynote speakers for its upcoming conference, scheduled to take place on November 6th and 7th, 2024, at the Crowne Plaza in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

With the theme “Building Resilience: For Cows, For Profit, and For the Future,” this year’s conference aims to address critical issues facing the dairy industry and explore innovative strategies to enhance resilience across all facets of dairy operations.

The keynote speakers for TotalDairy Conference 2024 include:

Heather White, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will delve into topics such as transition cow biology, rumen protected choline effects on production, and detection and treatment approaches for postpartum metabolic health.

Donagh Berry, from Teagasc in ROI, will share insights on the practical use of genomics in dairy breeding and production, genetics of dairy health and fertility, and genetics’ role in environmental sustainability.

Greg Bethard, CEO of the High Plains Ponderosa Dairy in Kansas, will offer expertise on building resilience in dairy businesses through financial management strategies and data-driven decision-making.

Jodi Wallace, representing Ormstown Veterinary Hospital in Quebec, will discuss the principles of high health ‘zero-zero’ calf rearing, emphasizing the importance of early-life care in ensuring herd resilience.

Vibeke Fladkjaer Nielsen, from Kvaegxperten, Denmark, will focus on motivating behavioural change and fostering innovation in dairy systems to enhance long-term sustainability.

Jack Bobo, Centre Lead and Director of Foods Systems Institute at Nottingham University, will explore strategies for building resilience for the future of the dairy industry amidst evolving challenges and opportunities.
